Her name means Empress and she lived her life defining that name. A life of Grace,
Elegance and Virtue.
She was born in Peru as the youngest of 8 siblings. At an early age she started with
ballet and became one of the youngest to study under a famous Russian maestro. They offered
her the chance to travel abroad. But life had other plans for her. She had fallen in love with a
charming engineer.
Empe gave life to 3 boys and 1 girl. They lived seven wonderful years together. At the
age of 24, destiny dealt her a hard hand and took her husband early. Just a young girl herself,
she needed to learn to be a single mother very quickly. Things weren't easy supporting 4 kids in
a house that was under construction for many years while working long hours for the airline.
She was a compassionate, hard working mother who made sure her kids knew they were loved
and would always provide guidance when they needed her most. A brilliant mind and strong will
led to finding another love of her life. Together they raised a second daughter. Empe’s husband
introduced her to opera, igniting a hidden vocal talent as a soprano.
She sang in many important productions ranging from opera to theatrical plays. The next eighteen years were an unforgettable adventure both at home and around the world. Unfortunately, destiny was unkind
to her one more time and took her second husband. She did not give up. This was just another
challenge to overcome.
Empe produced seven albums, sang for Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church choir for
over sixteen years, wrote four captivating novels all while producing over 270 works of art. No
gathering was complete without her signature. She was the cornerstone of the family with a
magnetic personality that brought everyone together.
Empe was a woman of balance. She taught the importance of keeping faith and
understanding science. She would go to church every Sunday and pray every night, but spend
time reading countless articles about space and the world beyond. She taught that everything
had its moment. When to play and when to focus. Her children would become proud parents,
following their mothers example, knowing that her lessons would continue on to their kids.
Immortality was supposed to be impossible. But with her strength of will fortifying our
souls, her unconditional love warming our hearts, and her contagious positivity pushing us
forward, Empe. Lives. Forever.
Maria Emperatriz Flor.
Long may you live in our hearts and in the kingdom of heaven.
