Linda C. Lea

Linda C. Lea, 64, passed away on Wednesday, August 24, 2011, at Hospice Home of High Point. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Concord Friends Meeting. Entombment will follow at Guilford Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Linda was born in Rockingham County, Nov.22, 1946, the daughter of Virgil Lee and Mamie Lee Hodgen Collins. She was a member of Concord Friends Meeting for the last 22 years. She had a special place in her heart for stray dogs and cats and would always try and care for them. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Time she could spend with her family was precious.

Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Hurdle Haywood Lea in 1998. Surviving are her three children; Sandra Gore and husband Tom of Kernersville, NC, Karen Oxford of Archdale, NC and Scott Lea of Greensboro, NC; grandsons, Josh and Matthew Gore and Caleb and C.J. Oxford. Four sisters and one brother also survive.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Concord Friends Meeting, 5000 Old Randleman Road, Greensboro, NC 27403.

The family will receive friends on Friday evening for 7 to 9 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel
