Born on April 1, 1954, in Greensboro, to the late Arthur and Mildred Burgess, Karen was a member of College Place United Methodist Church. She graduated from Grimsley High School Class of 1972 and then from Appalachian State University Class of 1976. Karen enjoyed being social and playing cards with the “Steel Magnolias”, her closest friends. She was a 1st Grade School Teacher for 30 years at Laughlin Primary in Guilford County. Karen received numerous awards throughout her career and made a huge impact on the lives of so many both young and old. She was an amazing love for life and laughter.
Her two greatest passions were her family and teaching which she poured all of her heart into. Over the past 7 years, she spent the majority of her time devoted to the biggest loves of her life, her two grandchildren, Keegan and Brycen. You could always find her cheering them on at school, sports, and other events. Karen also had a love and passion for traveling with her husband and family. Her favorite place to be was always Surfside Beach.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert “Bob” Morris, III of the home; daughter, Carolyn Rimmer Faircloth and her husband Craig of Kernersville; and the two loves of her life, Keegan and Brycen of Kernersville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Education Fund established for her grandchildren at Wells Fargo Bank under "Karen Morris Memorial Benefit Fund" Account #9010812064. Online condolences may be made at www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com.
