Mrs. Iva Sharpe Coble, 100, of Greensboro, died Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, 11:00 a.m., at Alamance Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Dr. Carl Parsons. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Iva was born January 26, 1914 in Greensboro, the daughter of John Hadley Sharpe and Lucinda Jarrell Sharpe.
She was a lifelong member of Alamance Presbyterian Church and at her death was the oldest member. She belonged to the Scott-Monroe- Anderson Sunday school class and the Lydia Circle. Iva was always active in the Presbyterian Women and other church activities.
In addition to her parents, Iva was preceded in death by her first husband of 49 years, George McIver Coble; son, Ray McIver Coble; son-in-law Jim Busby; her second husband, Ralph Coble; brothers, Eugene, Dimon, Kecil, Nick and Jamie Sharpe; sisters, Mallie Coley, Fairy Fogleman, Zonie Gibson and Margie Bishop.
Surviving are her daughters, Wilma Grubb (Richard) and Peggy Busby; grandchildren, Barry Grubb (Wendie), Cheryl Drye (Devin), Robin Long (Bill), and Jay Busby (Terri); great grandchildren, Jason Long, Andrew Long, Eric Drye (Shannon), Chad Drye, Miranda Busby, Savannah Grubb, Brianna Grubb, Nicholas Grubb and Will Grubb; great great granddaughter, Madeline Drye; step son, Richard Coble (Janice); step daughter, June Sanford (Reid); step grandchildren, RJ Coble (Stacie), Ryan Coble (Amy), and Alissa Way (John); 8 step great grandchildren; Iva is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Friday, 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm Chapel.
