Michael was born on April 29, 1958 the youngest son of the late Worth B. Hull and Rachel Smothers Hull Galyon. A lifelong native of Greensboro, he was a member of Greensboro Day School’s second graduating class, attended Guilford College, and was President of MES of America, Inc..
Michael was passionate about his community and his church. He was a member of West Market Street United Methodist Church where he served as an usher for almost 20 years. Michael was a member and past president of Greensboro Summit Rotary club with 26 years of perfect attendance, and an active member of Greensboro Sports Council. Michael was deeply devoted to his children; he was active with his son in the Boy Scouts of America, and served on the board of the Old North State Council, and worked with his daughter on the Greensboro Day School Alumni Association to serve his alma mater.
He was preceded in death by his father, Worth B. Hull; his daughter, Hope Michelle Hull; and his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Hugh P. Smothers, Jr., and Mr. and Mrs. Worth Hull.
He is survived by his wife Teresa Tolbert Hull; his son, Hugh Michael Hull, Jr., of Greensboro, NC; his daughter, R. Meredith Hull of Philadelphia, PA and her mother Hope G. Hull of Greensboro, NC; his mother, Rachel Smothers Hull Galyon and her husband J. Douglas Galyon of Greensboro; and brother, Maurice Scott Smothers Hull and his wife Laura Gilliam Hull of High Point, NC.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at West Market Street United Methodist Church. The family will visit with friends at Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home on North Elm Street from 6:00-8:00 pm on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael’s honor may be made to Greensboro Summit Rotary at P.O. Box 930 Greensboro, NC 27402.
