Frank David Sweeney

Frank was born on January 22, 1927 to the late Arnie and Bertha Sweeney in Greenville, KY and was a devout Christian. He was a self-employed traveling salesman for over 60 years and his wife referred to him as “King of the Road”. He enjoyed gardening, taking long walks, and loved his cats and coffee. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Wood Sweeney; a son, Frank David Sweeney, Jr.; 3 sisters; and 2 brothers.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Dr. Catherine Sweeney Burton of New Bern; son, Jason Patrick Sweeney and his wife Susan of Greensboro; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at Westminster Gardens Cemetery in Greensboro. The family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 pm Monday evening June 5, 2017 at Hanes-Lineberry N. Elm St. Chapel.

The family would like to express their heartfelt love and thanks to the residents and caregivers at The Arboretum of Heritage Greens and the staff of Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro.
