Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Hanes-Lineberry Funeral Home Sedgefield Chapel with Reverend Fred Harding officiating. Interment will follow in Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
She was born January 26, 1925 in Metter, GA, the daughter of Manning Dee Compton and Flossie Knight Compton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Truman Parks; one grandson; brothers, Manning D. Compton, Jr., James M. Compton, Sr., Wallace K. Compton, Sr. and sister, Lucia C. McAlhaney.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda B. Honeycutt, Toni L. Bland; son, Homer J. Bland III (Beth); nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; sister, Gloria C. Ray (James); sister-in-law, Helen B. Compton; brother, John E. Compton (Ruth) and a host of nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
