Doris W. Moody

Mrs. Doris Warren Moody, 93, passed away peacefully at her home on Sunday April 24, 2022. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 28th at 2:00pm at Hanes-Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral from 1:00 until 2:00pm.

Mrs. Moody was born on Oct. 1, 1928, in Guilford County. She was a member of Hinshaw United Methodist Church, where she and her beloved husband James had the honor of being the first couple married in the church on Feb. 10, 1951. Doris always had an active interest in gardening, woodcrafts, and picture framing. She immensely enjoyed all the friendships she made at the Piedmont Triad Farmers Market and various craft shows including the Carolina Craftsmen Classic. To know Doris, “Granny” was a blessing and she always welcomed everyone with the biggest heart.

Doris’ greatest joys in life were her beloved husband James, of 58 years, son Tim and lights of her life, her three granddaughters and 3 great-grandchildren.

Doris was preceded in death by her late husband James Moody, parents, William H. and Georgia Warren, two sisters and three brothers. Surviving is her son William Timothy "Tim" Moody wife Gerry of Greensboro; granddaughters, Jennifer Barrow and husband Doug, Allison Tilley and husband Jeff, Sarah Teague and husband Alan; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Olivia, and Logan.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to Doris’ caregiver, Annie Jones and the staff at Community Home Care & Hospice of Asheboro for their compassion, care and endless love for her.
