Delbert M. Parrish, 85, passed away on Monday, July 30, 2018, at Morningview Assisted Living. He was born on November 30, 1932 in Guilford County, the son of Lonnie W. and Lillie Chrismon Parrish, Sr.
Delbert was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Ann Permar Parrish, three brothers and two sisters. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving children; Del Parrish (Wendy) of Greensboro, NC, Steve Parrish (Renee) of Manteo, NC, Beverly Hunt (Allen) of Greensboro, NC and six grandchildren; Rebecca Ilagor(Everth),Andy Hunt, Allison Parrish, Kendra Hunt, Michael Hunt, and Bradley Parrish. Delbert was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many.
Delbert graduated from Greensboro Senior High School and served his country in the US Army during the Korean conflict. Following his military service, he worked as a draftsman with Carolina Steel and retired after 43 years of service. He was a member of Westover Church for over 25 years and a previous member of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. He was also a part of the Christian Business Men’s Club - Greensboro Central.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 2:00pm in the Chapel at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home N. Elm St. Burial will take place at Westminster Gardens Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm at the Funeral Home.
