I’m sad to say, I never knew Damian well, but I went to Grimsley with him, and we rode the same bus for years. Even never having knew him well, Damian crosses my mind from time to time, and I just want his family to know that Damian will be remembered. I will forever remember his big beaming smile he always had. He was always so happy and friendly. He will always stand out to me as one of the rare people in high school that never had an unkind word to say about people, and was nice to everyone, and didn’t care what people thought about it. Someone who wasn’t bothered by high school drama and cliques, but had instead, developed their own hobbies and interests, and strived to have fun in life, be happy,  and do his own thing. I’m sad Damian will never know how much his kind smiles he always gave me on the bus meant to me, but I just wanted to put it out there, that his kindness was noticed and appreciated and will never be forgotten! Rest In Peace, Damian. 

Over a year later and I still cry. Over a year later and I still ask why.... Damian was my Bestfriend, boyfriend and the only person who could make me smile on the worst days. To say you were the light of my life was a understatement, You still are. You may not be here but I see you everyday. I feel your presence in the stars. I’ll see you soon my book work. I love you.

Year has passed i cannot find it in myself not to cry every single day...ive always missed you from the day you was ripped from my arms by social services and  not one day has passed in those years that i havent kicked myself in the face ..my life was changed forever that day..and my heart stopped the day you passed...i ask everyday to wake up from this terrible nightmare..this  heartache..bring my lil dude back..why you?..i miss you to much, it isn't right..its not fair for such a beautiful soul to be takin away...if i could turn back time..take me instead...bring you back.. i wish i could do it..cause i would...just for one more text message..one more skype.one more i love you mommy to the moon and back..i will see you once again..i know..wait for me up there baby...i miss you baby..💓forever your mommy ...💓

From the instant I met Damian he became my best friend. He constantly wanted to make me happy in any way he could. I would get texts from him every morning saying “Good morning sunshine” and wake up feeling blessed to be in his life. I miss him more and more every day and it feels like there is a part of me missing. He was a true angel if ive ever seen one. There’s no one in the world that will replace him and the comfort he brought into my life with his words and his smile. Rest peacefully to a true angel and the light of my life. 

I remember my grandsonas a happy , loving, cute, happy, out going, happy most with his mommy , Amanda Marie Figueroa, he was a mommys boy. He had fun with his family, even short, will us to. And Kirsten also. He would loved his other brothers and sister, and dad, Manuel Figueroa, and Papaw Figueroa. We will love you and never forget you and miss you always. Love Grandma Figueroa.

It was my pleasure to teach Damian last year in psychology.  He was such an intelligent and lovely young man whose sweet smile and kind heart earned a place in my heart.   My family is so very sorry for your loss of such a special young man.   

Damian was one of the first people my daughter, Kate Pollard, met at UNC-Asheville and she spoke of him fondly. I had the pleasure of meeting him just once when I drove Kate, her roommate, and Damian back to school after the fall break. He struck me as a bright, interesting, polite and sincere young man who was full of joy and light.

I cannot imagine your grief over losing him. You are all  in my prayers.

This is a favorite picture of mine. Brian and I very much enjoyed the times we spent with you all, each time we visited and stayed with you. Damian was always excited to sit and talk with us and I just enjoyed that time so much. He was teaching me all that he was learning about in school and I always marveled at his brain and everything in it, he was so smart! He was a kind soul who loved you, (his Mom) Kirsten and his entire family. We miss him already. Our love to you, Kirsten and Ellen, and your family.
