Born on October 1, 1935 in Lexington, NC she was the daughter of the late Henry Hayes and Effie Poston Harvey. Carol enjoyed traveling, shopping and spending time with her sisters. She also treasured being with her family. She was a member of Peace United Church of Christ.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was preceded in death by two brothers, Jimmy Harvey and Tommy Harvey and three sisters, Betty Griffin, Linda Leonard, Hazeline Davis, and Lib Phillips.
Carol is survived by her sons, William Hayes MacDonald and wife Kelley; step-sons Victor MacDonald and wife Pat and Dr. Thomas G. MacDonald and wife Barbara; grandchildren, William Hayes MacDonald, Jr., Hannah MacDonald, Tori MacDonald, Patrick MacDonald, Mary Beth MacDonald, Alli MacDonald and Leah MacDonald; sisters, Alice Snider, Mary Forest and Vicki Bemisderfer; and numerous other family members and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Westminster Gardens Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11 to 12:30 pm at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home, 515 N Elm Street, Greensboro, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made to Peace United Church of Christ, 2714 W. Market Street, Greensboro, North Carolina 27403.
