Betty was born on September 5, 1934 in Burlington, North Carolina to Roland H. and Mary Cannon White.
She had so many gifts and talents. She was a loving wife and mother. She worked at Sears and Roebuck after they first moved from Burlington to Greensboro and then later for WBIG Radio. After that, she was a housewife and cared for her family. She was a great cook, seamstress, grade mother, painter, bowled on a bowling league, member of the Master Gardeners for over 10 years and very loving grandmother, friend and neighbor.
Mom loved all people and all things and was always thankful for everything done for her. She had great wisdom, a sassy disposition at times, witty sense of humor, grit, tenacity and such a giving nature. She will be missed dearly by so many.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Edward White and her daughter Lisa Wolfe.
She is survived by her daughter: Teresa Lynne White; Her grandsons Blake Edward Tuttle and Scott Bradley Tuttle.
Betty’s family is extremely grateful to Debra Burcham, Lillie Taylor and Gail Revis, who lovingly and patiently helped care for her since June of last year. They became like family to us.
Visitation will be from 11 to 11:45 AM on Tuesday, February 13 at Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church, Greensboro. Service will begin at noon. Afterwards, a short service will be at Alamance Memorial Cemetery in Burlington at 2 PM where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Eddie.
