A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, July 3 at 1:30 at Vandalia Presbyterian Church, with Paul Ridolfi officiating the service. Visitation will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service with a reception to honor the life of Barbara, a loving wife and mother.
A native of Sampson County, Barbara was born May 4, 1937 to the late Willis H. Reeves and Agnes Robinson Reeves. She met her soul mate Harold at the age of 16 and they were married on November 27, 1955. They were happily married for 67 years. She retired after 42 years of service with Bank of America, serving the majority of that time as a Branch Manager. She was a long time member of Vandalia Presbyterian Church where she served as a member of the Fellowship Committee, Treasurer of her Sunday School class, Treasurer of her Women's Circle and Usher. She loved gatherings with friends and family, and always enjoyed hosting cookouts at her home. She also enjoyed crocheting, tole painting, table floral arrangements, and traveling with family and friends to favorite locations such as Myrtle Beach, SC and Lancaster, PA.
Barbara is survived by her husband, James Harold of the home; daughters, Sandra Helm and husband David Helm of Gastonia and Melanie Dawson and husband Steve Dawson of Gibsonville; grandchildren, Ellen (Patrick) Mullinax, Jennifer Helm, Brittany Helm, Stephanie Dawson and Caroline Dawson; great- grandchildren, Walker Sheridan, Emmett Sheridan, Cora Helm, Summer Mullinax; siblings, Betty Taylor, W.H. (Helen) Reeves, Jim (Beth) Reeves and Donald (Susan) Reeves. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Pat Oates.
