Anthony is survived most notably by his three sons, Gerek(15), Seth(12) and Ethan(11), close friends Jeremy and Stephanie, along with numerous other friends, both local and across the nation, who Anthony came to know as his chosen family.
If you knew Anthony, you know he lived hard and he fought hard to live. After many years and a number of battles seemingly won, on March 1, 2022, mental illness hit its target and won the war. In his 36 years Anthony’s passions and achievements were many. His proudest, beyond doubt, was having three wonderful sons, Gerek, Seth and Ethan, each of whom bears his own likeness and characteristics of their beloved father. His former wives, Cally Smith, mother of Gerek, and Mary Glancy, mother of Seth and Ethan, remained his friends and confidantes to the very end.
It’s impossible to remember Anthony and not think of his passion for music, especially live concerts. It was a means of communication for him that he loved to share with his friends. He credited music with getting him through many tough times and even saving his life.
Anthony always loved a challenge. Whether it was knocking the roof off a sales quota, starting a new business, running a marathon or completing a tough mudder, he was always trying to outdo himself. Nothing seemed impossible for Anthony. In a short lived podcast that Anthony started, he said “Today is all we can count on. If I die today, I want to leave something that impresses somebody to do something. I’m always saying ‘Here goes something’ and telling people to ‘Do the damn thing’.”
In keeping with that, we will reminisce and celebrate the beautiful life with a memorial service on Sunday, March 13 from 2-5pm at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home located at 515 North Elm St., Greensboro, NC 27401. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to your favorite mental health charity or a gift to the GoFundMe at https://gofund.me/93706431 to help with funeral costs and whatever support and counseling his children may need to help lighten the load and give the guidance to healthy grieving. Online condolences may be offered at www.haneslineberryfhnorthelm.com.
