Anne Henley Wilson Holliday of Greensboro passed away the morning of Friday June 8th, 2018 surrounded by family after struggling with breast cancer. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at 11 AM, Saturday, June 16th, 2018 at Roseboro United Methodist Church, 300 N. Broad Street, Roseboro, NC 28382.
Born in Roseboro, NC on September 3rd, 1940, she was the daughter of Needham Leonidas Wilson and Marion Beach Wilson and the wife of the late Charles Leonard Holliday, Sr., who passed away on April 11th, 2006.
Anne had a passion for music and a successful career as a piano teacher and her love of people later led to a second career in real estate. Anne loved her dogs, Desi and Gracie, music and her gardening. She had a very giving heart and was adored by many. Anne especially enjoyed time with her family. She was actively involved in the Sunset Hills Garden Club, Benjamin Readers Book Club and various charitable organizations. Anne attended Greensboro College.
She is survived by her son, Rueben Andrew Gainey II and wife Tamela of Greensboro; daughter, Jessica Anne Gainey of Cary; step-son, Charles Leonard Holliday, Jr., and wife Catherine of Folly Beach, SC; granddaughter, Katherine Anne Olson; great grandson, Hunter Davis Olson; step granddaughters; step great grandchildren; and sisters, Beach Campbell of Crestview, FL, Frances Pearson and Jane Spell both of Clinton. She is also survived by many nephew and nieces who loved her dearly.
In lieu of flowers, her family requests contributions be made to breast cancer research made in memory of Anne.
