Ann resided with her parents, Berta Thompson (Carroll) and Hubert Lemuel Dixon Sr. and siblings Mary, Hilda, Doris “Dot”, Hubert Jr. “Sonny” and Glyn Dixon. Losing her father early in life, Ann’s mother remarried, the family moving to Greensboro, NC, where Ann graduated from Bessemer High School (1949). Ann wed William Howard McDaniel (1931-2008). She was employed by Pilot Life Insurance Company and the Greensboro Diaper Service until Denise (David) Beavers, Gary (Brenda) McDaniel and Yvonne McDaniel came along. They were active residents of the Woodlea Community of Greensboro for 10 years, where Ann attended Vandalia Presbyterian Church. The family built a beach house at Oak Island, NC which Ann and Howard enjoyed during, and after, Howard’s career with Western Electric/AT&T took them to Chesterfield, VA (1976) along with transplanted AT&T friends. Ann joined Bethany Place Baptist Church (1976-2022) where she participated in the Sanctuary Building Program and nurtured long friendships.
Ann and Howard were blessed with 5 granddaughters and 7 great-grandchildren. She moved to Good Samaritan Society - Fort Collins Village in 2019 to be near her son and his family.
