He was born June 13, 1939 son of the late Tivis and Bessie Kate Hartman.
Wayne was the owner of Hartman Electric Company and a farmer. He was retired. Wayne was a Veteran of the United States Army and was a paratrooper.
He was a member of Brown Springs Baptist Church.
Wayne was a collector of John Deere Tractors and his favorite pastime was working and restoring these tractors.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Beverly F. Hartman; two brothers and sister-in-law, Kyle Hartman, Jackie and Patsy Hartman; nephew Anthony Hartman; father-in-law and mother-in-law Hugh and Euba Ford.
Wayne is survived by double cousins, Janie and Durward Shepherd and the Shepherd and Ellenburg families; sister-in-law, Suzy Hartman; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Roger and Kathy Ford, John Ford and Eugene Miller; as well as several nieces and nephews and a special friend, Charlotte Tweed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, from 12 – 2 pm at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Richard Long and Rev. James Sauceman officiating.
Interment will follow in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers are Buford Davis, Tommy Ellenburg, Charles Ellenburg, Ruey Davis, Byron Crawford, Stokey Ledford, Ricky Shepherd, Randy Shepherd and Rex Shepherd.
Honorary pallbearers are Tommy and Ollie Sheffey, George and Carol Jessie, Billy Sam and Vilas Patton, James and Nellie Whittenburg, his Mt Pleasant neighbors, John Deere Tractor friends, and Orebank Rook Club.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial gifts be given to the organization of your choice.
