He was a member of Union Free Will Baptist Church.
Mr. Parker retired from the Tennessee Highway Department.
He always loved playing Santa Claus for the children.
Survivors include three sisters: Norma Humbard, Carolyn parker, and Joyce Johnson; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles and Charlsie Parker and Verlin and Ramona Parker; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Linda Gragg; several great nieces and great nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Georgia and James Rector, Blanche and Clarence Huckabay, Cheryl Middleton, Debra and Bobby Scott and Darryl Middleton; a special friend, Lyle Smith; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Dolores Parker; parents: William Oscar and Dora Parker; brothers: Carl Parker, Ralph Parker, Howard Parker and Gene Parker; and sisters: Florence Yates and Wanda Burger.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Side Barkley and Rev. Richard Bowers officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery on the Kingsport Highway.
Pallbearers will be Denny Humbard, Dwayne Rector, Gary Rector, Parker Johnson, Austin Frye, Darin Humbard, and Jason Crawford.
Honorary pallbearers are Gene Carter, Lyle Smith, the men of Union FWB Church, Dwayne Parker, and Freddie Malone.
