Roger Dale Hughes

He was a retired employee of Parker Hannifin.

Mr. Hughes was a member of the Hill Street Church of God.

He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Survivors include his wife: Judy Jones Hughes; a daughter and son-in-law: Pamela and Jimmy Shelton of Greeneville; grandchildren: Macey Salyers and Michael Shelton; mother: Madeline Keplinger of Erwin; sister and brother-in-law: Linda and Ralph Treadway of Telford; a brother: Edwin Keplinger of Telford; mother-in-law: Josephine Jones of Johnson City; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Mike and Janet Jones of Jonesborough; several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.

He was the son of the late R. B. Hughes and was preceded in death by a daughter, Jan Salyers Hughes, and his father-in-law, Herbert Jones.

The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2010, in the Kiser Rose Hill Chapel. Rev. Gordon Stacy, Rev. Wayne Depew, and Rev. Lester Lattney will officiate. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, in the Chuckey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Mike Jones, Michael Shelton, Gary Brumit, Adam Brumit, Jeff Sparks, Larry McNease, Larry Clawson, and David Salyers. Honorary pallbearer is Dr. E. B. Smith.

The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Family and friends are requested to meet at the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. Sunday to go in procession for the committal service.
