Robert Harold Thompson

He was the greatest husband, Dad, and papaw that anyone could ask for; he was the G.O.A.T. of mischievousness and lived his life for God, family, friends, and sports. He attended Oak Grove Freewill Baptist.

He is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart of 53 wonderful years, Carolyn Thompson; one son Robert Thompson Jr.; three daughters and son in laws, Robin and Jeffery Winters, Shelley and Jessie Davis, Spring Thompson and Nick Budenz; five grandchildren, Jimmy Davis, Cassie and Trenton Winters, Patrick and Gabe Budenz; one sister, Katherine Lee Stewart; two brothers, Bill and his wife, Marie Thompson and Donnie Thompson; two sisters in law, Gaye and her husband Carl Duncan and Elizabeth “Sissy” Thompson.

He is preceded in death by granddaughter, Ashley Davis; parents, Carl and Bertha Thompson; brothers, Ed, Ruble, Gene, Jack, Leland, and George; sisters, Mary B. Wahler, Julia Cohen, Brenda Crum, and Trisha Gray; several in laws, nieces, and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held from 5:00-6:00 pm Wednesday, March 9, 2022 at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home.
