Lucy R. Shelton

Lucy was a member of Temple of God Church.

She worked at Plus Mark as long as her health permitted.

Survivors include her mother: Gloria Shelton; her birth mother and step-father: Linda Helen and Carroll Dixson; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Gerald and Barb Shelton and Bill and Ann Shelton, all of Rockford, Illinois; one sister: Gloria Dixson; special aunts and uncles: Josephine and Rev. D.L. Cutshaw, Stanley (Liz) Gray of Michigan, Robert Lee (Mildred) Shelton, Norma Jean Gray, and Mert Yount; four special nephews: Chris Shelton, Malix Britton, Thomas and Chase Lawson; four special nieces: Lindsey Craycraft, Kelly Shelton, Jordyn Shelton, and Amanda Mendeloff; great nieces and great nephew: Blakely Craycraft, Bella and Sammy Mendeloff; two cousins, who were like sisters and were caregivers: Wendy Gray, Debbie Gray Ripley and Kenzie Holt, who she thought of as a daughter; a number of special cousins; her beloved cat: Zoey; special friends: Mitzi Gass, Frances Tarlton, and Shanna Sakora; and many other special children whom she loved as her own.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jay Shelton, grandparents, Silas and Lucy Gray and Alonzo and Bessie Shelton; and her uncles: Warren Yount and Tommy and Bobby Gray.

The family will receive friends from 12pm-2pm Monday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. D.L. Cutshaw and Rev. Randy Wood officiating.

Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Chad Gray, Eddie Ripley, Johnny Landers, Bill Castle, Jason Bailey, Malix Britton, Thomas and Chase Lawson, and Andrew Craycraft.

Honorary pallbearers are Tommy Allen Gray, Chris Shelton, and the members of her church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
