John Anderson Kiser

He was retired.

He was a member of Boone Trail Baptist Church.

John was a local performer of country and gospel music, who helped raise funds for St. James Community Center. He had a band, “Johnny Kiser and the Southern Sounds.”

Survivors include his wife: Beth Downs Kiser; son and daughter-in-law: Jonathan A. and Michelle Kiser; daughter and son-in-law: Amanda K. and Casey Varden; two grandsons: John David and Jackson Waltrip “J.W.” Kiser; siblings and their spouses: Lowell D. and Linda Kiser, Gladalea K. and Lowell Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the son of the late James D. Kiser and Vivian Bowers Kiser.

The family will receive friends 4-6pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

Following visitation, the funeral service will be held at 6pm Thursday, August 22, 2013, in Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel with Rev. Larry Moore and Rev. Mark Harrod officiating.

Interment will follow at 10am Friday at Fairview United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
