Jerry “Lynn” Hensley, age 52, of Chuckey, South Central community, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Johnson City Medical Center.
He was the owner and operator of J & K Pressure Washing. He was a fun, loving husband and father who loved telling stories and had never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years: Kathy Hensley; five children: Brittany Hensley, Brooke Scudgington and husband Steven, Bridget Hensley and fiancé Alvin Peters, Garrett Hensley, Allen Hensley and fiancé Lakeitcha Stewart and Rayden Payne whom he thought of as a grandson; a mother; Shirley Hensley; two brothers: Chris and Rhonda Hensley and Michael Campbell; a brother-in-law: Keith Dixon; two sisters: Marsha and Denny Smith, Melody and Mike Meadows; a special friend who was like a mother to him: Tammy Kiersey; other special friends: Terry and Beverly Rice; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father: Clyde Hensley; sisters: Karen “Sue” Brown and Denise Dixon.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 5-7 pm Friday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home with the service following at 7:00 pm with Rev. Earl Bailey and Rev. Terry Rice officiating.
Interment will be held 10:00 am Saturday at Philadelphia Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:00 am to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Robert Denson, Jacob Denson, Bonson Cook, Garrett Pitts, Nathan Pitts, Conner Denson, Steven Scudgington, Mike Riddle and Larry Booker.
Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
