She was employed by Heritage Community Bank and enjoyed all of her special customers.
She was a devoted and loving mother and Nana.
She was a devout Christian, whose faith inspired many. She was a member of First Christian Church of Greeneville.
Survivors include her son: Frank “Wesley” Newton III; daughter and son-in-law: Amber and Berry Starrette; ex-husband, good friend, and father of her children: Frank W. Newton Jr.; step-father: Keith Chandler; brother and sister-in-law: Gary and Nancy Spears; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Frank and Lena Newton; sister-in-law: Linda Laws; brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Jody and Teresa Newton; nieces and nephews: Kim Patterson, Brett Garland, Kristen Newton, Dustin Newton, and Amanda Johnson; great nephews: John Wesley and Matthew Patterson; grandchildren: Noah, Bella, Dacey, and Ethan Starrette; great grandson: Jaxson Morelock; many special cousins; special “family”: Max Laws, Debbie Swatzell, Elizabeth Laws, Phyllis “Mammy” Laws, and Kathryn Crumm; her family at Heritage Community Bank; her life group at First Christian Church; the “girls from the bank”; and her very special friend, whom she loved dearly, Aaron Miller, and his sister, Jewel Stevenson.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Spears; mother: Jennie Chandler; infant daughter: Jennifer Newton; and brother-in-law: J.B. Laws.
The family will receive friends from 2pm-4pm and 6pm-8pm Wednesday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00pm Wednesday in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Scott Wakefield officiating.
Interment will be at 2:00pm Thursday in GreeneLawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30pm Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Chad Cannon, Nick Cannon, Geoff Foster, Tim Waddle, Jared Kite, and Nic Luttrell.
Honorary pallbearers are the men at First Christian Church, Aaron Miller, Tommy Burns, Craig Ogle, John Freshour, Justin Burns, and Kevin Smith.
The family extends a special thank you to Hannah Kirk PA and everyone at Takoma Internal Medicine, Dr. Beth Bulawa, the doctors and staff at the Cancer Treatment Center in Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Anil Tumkur and his staff, the employees at Heritage Community Bank, Lannie Cannon, Debbie Overacker, Sylvia Burns, Carolyn McCarter, Karen Lawing, Connie Kilday, Chrystal Myers, Heather White, Amedisys Home Health and Hospice of Greeneville, and everyone who followed “Janie’s Journey” online.
