Harold "Papaw" Davis

He was a former employee of Sam Moore Furniture.

Mr. Davis was Baptist by faith.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

Mr. Davis was an avid coon hunter and ate daily at the Baileyton Restaurant.

Survivors include a son: Steve Davis of Barboursville, Kentucky; a daughter: Gwenetta Davis of Louisville, Kentucky; two special step-daughters: Melinda and Violet; two brothers and a sister-in-law: W.H. Davis of Michigan and Jack and Shelby Davis of Johnson City; sister and brother-in-law: Joann and Harley Bays of Johnson City; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Caleb and Lizzie Davis; four brothers: J.L., Lowell, Reed, and Ronnie Davis; and a sister: Joyce Barnes.

The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Saturday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Steve Davis officiating.

Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. Sunday in Cross Anchor Cemetery. Family and friends are asked to meet at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
