He was retired from Ball Metal and Chemical.
Mr. McCoy attended Greene Ridge FreeWill Baptist Church.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: James and Peggy McCoy; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law: Jason and Catherine McCoy; great grandchildren: Madison McCoy and Alex McCoy, all of Greeneville; two sisters: Doris Sexton and Juanita Weeks, both of Kingsport; sister-in-law: Evelyn Nunley; several nieces and nephews including a special niece and nephew: Danny and Cathy Ottinger; special great niece: Kym Jordan and husband, Michael; very special friends: Betty Dunn, Bryanna Wallace, Billy and Sandy Neal.
He was the son of the late McKinley and Mary Alice Saylor McCoy and was preceded in death
by his wife, Nellie McCoy; a grandson, Nathan McCoy; two brothers, Willie McCoy and Henry
McCoy.
The funeral service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, May 27, 2012, in the Kiser-Rose Hill Chapel.
Rev. Jason McCoy and Rev. Asa Adams will officiate. Interment will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday at GreeneLawn Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Roger Hensley, Brian Hensley, Kenneth Southerland, Michael Jordan, Jay Riddle and Alex Hensley.
Members of Greene Ridge FreeWill Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
Family and friends are asked to meet at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
