He is a retired retail manager. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved reading his bible and praying every day.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary McConnell; children, Dana (Rod) James, Kevin (Sheri) McConnell, Wendi Blackwell, and Joseph (Laura) McConnell; seven grandchildren; one great grandchild; sister, Hilda Hoskins; brother, James (Rebecca) McConnell; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is preceded in death by, parents, William “Buck” and Ella McConnell; son, Michael McConnell; and sister, Linda Pearce.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 11am with Rev. Dewayne Pierce officiating at Kiser Rose Hill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
