Mrs. White was born in the country of Panama, but had been a resident of Greene County since 1975.
She was a member of New Haven Church.
Mrs. White was a ten year employee of Chuckey Doak High School. Her title was “bookkeeper” but “Miss Cindy” was much more than that to the faculty, staff, and students at the school.
Her family states, “Cindy was a devoted wife and mother who enjoyed supporting her daughter’s successful athletic careers and spending time with family and friends. She was an engaging personality with an infectious smile who always had a kind, supporting word for everyone.”
Survivors include her husband of 28 years, Kevin White; two daughters, Brittany White and Brooke White, all of Greene County; her parents, Jack and Romell “Kat" White of Greeneville; a sister, Nancy Tolley; two brothers, Ray White and Terry White; mother-in-law, Henrietta White; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Mickey and Donna White of Johnson City, Mary Beth White of Greeneville, Amy and Gregg Ford of Washington County; her nieces: Sierra Ford of Washington County, Samantha White and Kelsie White, both of Greeneville; and a nephew: Matthew White, also of Greeneville.
She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, J. W. White, and a special nephew, Daniel Tolley.
The funeral servcie will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 6, 2010, at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Chapel. Rev. Keith Williams, Rev. Joey Tillery, and Rev. Wayne Waycaster will officiate. Interment will follow in the Union Temple Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be George Frye, Ben Murphy, Mark Aucker, Tim White, Gregg Ford, and Frank Newcomb. Honorary pallbearers will be the faculty and staff of Chuckey Doak High School, faculty and staff of Cancer Treatment Center of America, and all of her loving, caring friends.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-10 p.m. Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home. A scholarship fund for Chuckey Doak graduates has been set up.
