Charlotte Doty

She was a member of Doty’s Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Doty was a retired medical technologist at Takoma Hospital.

She was a member of Roaring Springs Home Demonstration Club.

She was a devoted caregiver for her mother, as well as her husband.

Survivors include two sisters and a brother-in-law: Mary Leming of Hilliard, Ohio and Louise and Harold Brown of Vienna, West Virginia; brother and sister-in-law: Hubert and Shelby Johnson of Greeneville; sister-in-law: Mary Ann Johnson of Atlanta, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.

She was the daughter of the late Robert Powell Johnson and Martha K. Johnson and was preceded in death by her husband: Lyle Doty; two sisters: Katherine Ellenburg and Nell Woolsey; and a brother: Powell Johnson.

The family will receive friends from 6pm-8pm Thursday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Friday, August 14, 2015 at Doty’s Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Rimer officiating. The body will be taken to the church to lie in state for thirty minutes preceding the funeral service.

Interment will follow in Doty’s Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be her nephews.
