He was a former employee of Magnavox and was a farmer.
Mr. Coffey was a member of Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church and also was a member of Greene County Horse Club.
He was a loving father, grandfather and brother who loved his horses and farming.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law: Teresa and L. T. Gibson of Afton, Chrystal Brooks of Greeneville; three grandchildren: Joel Gibson, Isaac Gibson and Colby Brooks; two sisters and a brother-in-law: Revonda and Roy Johnson, Patricia Mathes, all of Greeneville; a brother and sister-in-law: Jimmie Dean and Emma Coffey of Greeneville; aunt and uncle: Sybil and Bob Davis of Greeneville; several nieces, nephews and cousins; two half-sisters: Yvonne Olmstead and husband, Jack, of MI, Denise Coffey of Cookeville; a half-brother: Dale Coffey of Cookeville; stepsisters: Imogene Carter, Nancy Justis, Jennie Lynn Brown and Frances Sartin; stepbrothers: Harve Sauceman, L. G. “Fuzz” Sauceman, Jack Sauceman .
He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis C. Coffey; mother, Lena Coffey Sauceman; and stepfather, Cecil Sauceman.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 15, 2013, at Mt. Pisgah UM Church.
Rev. Jim Fillers and Rev. Dolphus Cutshaw will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Don McMillian, Elmer Tweed, Royce Davis, Doug Duff, Chad Higginbotham, Sammy Brooks, Bobby Bird and Doug Crum.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joy and Freddy Myers, Lyle Miller, Lavern Taylor,
Kenneth Shaw, Hugh Shipley, Johnny Powers, his friends at Ma and Pa’s Restaurant, Donnie
Brooks, Bruce Crum, Steve Fann, Steve Cutshall, Rex Johnson, Ronnie Babb, Leroy Kesterson,
Alvin Miller, D.C. Rice, Larry Jones, the third floor nursing staff at Takoma Regional Hospital.
The family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Kiser-Rose Hill Funeral Home.
