The daughter of Gene and Thelma Hess (O’Hair), she graduated from Bainbridge High School where she was a majorette. Jane Ann married and had five children, serving as room mother and always supporting her children in their activities. She taught preschool for many years at First Baptist Preschool where she thoroughly enjoyed the young children. She was a member of Tri Kappa and Wellspring Church. Small in stature but huge in quiet strength, Jane Ann always put others before herself. She enjoyed tending her flower gardens, vegetable gardening, painting, cooking, long walks, outings with her girlfriends, and a variety of music. In her later years, neither her walker nor her wheelchair stopped her and her feisty spirit from dancing like nobody was watching!
Jane Ann was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jim Harris. She is survived by her brother Joe Hess (Barbara) and her children, Shellie Thomas (Bill); Christie Repass; Jamie Maroney (Kevin); Paul Harris (Heather); Lyndsay Holmes (Jason), grandchildren, Rachel (Thomas) Raymer (Jeremy), Shannon Maroney, Tyler and Derek Harris, Handley and Haelynn Everman as well as many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
