Born in Indianapolis, he was the son of Ralph Cox and Josephine (McGinty) Cox. He married Sara (King) Cox in 1964, and she survives.
He graduated from Fillmore High School in 1962. Daniel was employed as a Quality Control Representative at Navistar for 41 ½ years retiring in 2004.
Mr. Cox was a member of Fillmore Methodist Church and Friendly Squares for many years.
After retirement he and his wife spent their winters in Florida.
Additional survivors include his son, Randy Cox, (wife-Juleena), Fillmore; his daughter, Candace Williams, (husband-Sam), Bloomington; mother-in-law, Ruth King, Bluffton; five grandchildren, Tyler Cox, (wife-Tiffany), Greencastle, Tiffani O’Hair, Fillmore, Tessa Cox, (fiancé-Shawn Sullivan), Mt. Meridian, Brandon Buis, (wife-Jamie), Indianapolis, and Devin Kidwell, Bloomington; six great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, Dr. Leonard King, (wife-Marjorie), Fort Wayne; brother, Jerry Cox, (wife-Pat), Mt. Meridian; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Cox; and his father-in-law, Rev. Norris King.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, October 29, 2021, for family and friends at Stilesville Cemetery. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will at Fillmore Methodist Church.
