Virginia Joan Riley passed away on November 19, 2019 in Windsor, Colorado.... Virginia was born on July 25, 1932 in Arcadia, Nebraska to Earnest and Charlotte Smith... Virginia graduated from Kearney High School, from there she worked various other jobs, working at First State Bank in Shelton, Nebraska, Virginia put all three boys through college.
Virginia and Jack were united in marriage November 18, 1953 at the United Methodist Church in Kearney, Nebraska. From this loving marriage of over 60 years, three sons were brought into this world, which were the love of her life.
While in Shelton, she was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church, very involved in circle and teaching Sunday School and a Cub Scout leader in her younger years...she was initiated April 21, 1964 into Chapter BI PEO, a member of The Auxiliary, & the OURNITEOUT club...
Virginias hobbies included fishing and spending weekends at their cabin on Johnson Lake, south of Lexington, Nebraska. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, painting and traveling in their motor home, camping and spending time with her family.
In 2010, they moved to Windsor, Colorado where they enjoyed the Rocky Mountains that were part of their earlier travels.
Survivors include her children, son, Kim (Jean) of North Platte, Nebraska, their daughters Jessica (Craig) and their children, Madelyn, Caius and Mirielle, Jami (Chad) and their children, Olivia and Kingston, and daughter Jordan (Anthony). son, Kirk (Kris) of Cozad, Nebraska, their sons Dirk (Lanay) and their children Stone and Samson, Dillon (Elise) and their children AC and Tessa and daughter Morgan (Drew) and child Mila, son Craig (Vickie) of Windsor, Colorado, his sons, Cody and Connor, her sister-in-law Wilma Jean Mayfield (Dick) of Shelton, Nebraska and many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceeded in death by her husband Jack, parents Charlotte and Ernest Smith, sister Jan McMindes and in-laws Chuck and Madeline Riley.
