Ricardo grew up in Greeley, Colorado and attended Greeley Central High School. He was a District Manager for a janitorial company that serviced all the JC Penny stores in Texas. He also had his own janitorial business TKO Cleaning and did contract work for various companies.
Ricardo was a big Dallas Cowboys fan and an avid wrestling fan, especially WWE. He loved fishing, being outdoors and barbequing with his family. He was the one who always grilled for special events. He liked to tell jokes, go for walks, listen to various types of music and enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons in his free time. Ricardo also loved lowriders and had various ones growing up. He enjoyed playing poker, his favorite was Texas Hold EM. He had a lot of friends because he was always very friendly and giving. Ricardo was very willing to lend a hand and help his friends and family out when they needed it.
Ricardo is survived by his daughter, Angtoinette Martinez; sons, Ricardo Martinez Jr. and Rico Martinez; mother, Annabelia Salazar; sisters, Yolanda Villarreal (Ruben), Monica Salazar (Daniel Strohm), and Beatriz Rangel; and his brothers, Joseph Martinez, Luis Martinez, and Juan Salazar (Leslie Galindo).
He is preceded in death by his father, John Salazar; nephew, Adrian Martinez; and his uncle, Frank Acosta.
There will be a Celebration of Life and Visitation for Ricardo on Saturday, April 6, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. He will be laid to rest at Eaton Cemetery, Christensen Ave, Eaton, Colorado 80615.
