Lillian Mae (Lohrey) Clark 88 of Greeley, Colorado died peacefully at home on Monday, December 6, 2021 with her family by her side. She was born October 13, 1933 in Peckham, Colorado to Benjamin and Clara (Bernd) Lohrey.
She attended Platteville Elementary and graduated from Gilcrest High School in May 1952. She met Billy Ray Clark on a blind date in the Summer of 1951 and they married June 29, 1952 in Greeley, Colorado. Lillian grew up working on the farm which she loved to share stories about. She learned her strong work ethic there that she used throughout her life. After marriage she worked in her mother-in-law’s grocery store, Clark’s Market and owned a pet shop, Waterland Aquarium. She also worked at The Farm Fare Restaurant for Fritz Barsch; and Kodak of Colorado in Windsor where she took early retirement. She then received her Real Estate license where she began her dream job at Coldwell Banker and later worked at English Burns and ERA Pro in Greeley. She retired in 2008.
Her first love was her family and she enjoyed cooking and baking for all of the holidays and birthdays. We all looked forward to the German recipes she made for special occasions. One of her favorite things was making Christmas goodie trays for Strands Salon, friends and neighbors. Lillian was considered the “Matriarch” of the family. Spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and siblings gave her great joy. She was the person many turned to for family history, recipes and genealogy. Her real estate friends, neighbors and school classmates were always her extended family.
Many of the things important to Lillan were watching her favorite sports teams and ice skating, yearly 4th of July Parade (never missed any), holidays, family and high school reunions, monthly Real Estate birthday parties, area history and any of her grandchildren’s functions. She looked forward to spring so you could find her every year planting her favorite flowers.
Lilliiin is survived by daughters Ranae (Tom) Heilbrun and children Jenny (Matt) Erichsen, Jason (Val) Fritz, Teague (Jessie) Heilbrun, Tiffani (Bryan) Higer, and Tyson (Sheena) Heilbrun; Ronda (Phong) Tram; and Roda Belt and children Tucker and Presley Belt. Great-Grandchildren are Skylar and Lindsey Fritz, Jacob and Brayden Carpio, Kyla Erichsen, Taryn (Derek) Peiper, Aiden, Ethan, and Hudson Heilbrun, and Gavin and Taylor Higer. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Clark; parents Benjamin and Clara (Bernd) Lohrey; parents-in-law Herbert and Eva (Huckabay) Clark; brother Edgar (Ilah) Lohrey; sisters, Leona Wens and Arlene (Donald) Hammerbacher; and sister-in-law Mary Lou (Bud) Meeker.
