He was born June 29, 1953 to Cipriano Najera and Tomasa Quintana. Lazaro was raised in Mexico with his seven sisters and six brothers. When he made the move to Colorado in 1968, Lazaro became a mechanic for John Deere until 1986. Because of his drive to stay busy, he continued doing a lot of non-profit work. Lazaro was a true handyman.
In September of 1987, he married Olivia Vallejo. Lazaro was also a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnstown.
Lazaro never had a bad day; he would always make the best out of every situation by making people laugh. He was a comedian and was a very witty person. He had a great sense of humor. Lazaro was a big thrift shopper and collected many things. He also enjoyed playing cards, and gambling. Lazaro would help anyone at anytime of the day. He had a heart of gold and was loved by so many people. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
Lazaro is survived by his wife, Olivia; daughters, Carina (Jesus) Vega and Marina (Manuel) Soto; son, Jesse Vallejo (Erica Olivas); his brothers and sisters; and his grandchildren, Jannesa, Tiana, Destiny, Ramon, Aleena, Zariah, Alex, Aimee, Remi, Dana, Jaylinn, and Viririana.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Leobardo Najera and Jesus Manuel Najera; and his sister, Maria Elena Moreno.
A Visitation for Lazaro will be held Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 W. 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634
