Joyce Elaine Kaufman passed away August 29, 2014 and joined her husband, Charles Edward Kaufman in heaven. Joyce was born February 2, 1928 in Farmland, Indiana to Lawrence and Pearl (Van Matre) Friar. After graduating from Farmland High School, she attended Ball State University where she received her Bachelor and Master’s Degrees in Speech Pathology. On August 6, 1950, Joyce married Charles Kaufman in Farmland, Indiana. She worked as a Speech and Hearing Audiologist for the majority of her employment in Muncie, Indiana. Joyce was a member of High Street Methodist Church in Muncie, Indiana; Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson, Arizona and attended Timberline Church in Fort Collins, Colorado. She was an avid supporter of Chuck in his Kiwanis activities, as well as being a member of the Daughter’s of the American Revolution and an active member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Joyce is survived by Kim Edward Kaufman and his wife Dianna of Spring, Texas; Gregory Lawrence Kaufman and his wife Arian of Houston, Texas; Richard Charles Kaufman and his wife Diane of Fort Collins, Colorado; eight grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles on April 25, 2007.
