Johnathan “John” Daughtrey, 64, of Eaton, died Sunday, January 20, 2019 at North Colorado Medical Center in Greeley. He was born on October 6, 1954 in Greeley to Morris and Sylvia (Dimmick) Daughtrey.
John earned his GED from Aims Community College. He worked for Agland and the Eaton School District. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS MISSISSINEWA.
John served on the committee for Eaton Community Days. He enjoyed making people laugh, painting, camping, fishing and being outdoors. He traveled the circuit of craft shows and enjoyed building forts and toys for his kids.
John loved all of his pets: dogs, cats, birds, goldfish and especially his dog, Dominic and cat, Smokey.
John is survived by his wife, Mary of Eaton; daughter, Winter Armfield (David) of Severance; son, Perry Daughtrey (Jennifer) of Firestone; mother, Sylvia McWilliams of Greeley; sisters, Teddie Gilbert (Norm) of Martinez, California, Cami Browning (Randy) of Bedford, Texas and Brenda Hansen of Frankston, Texas; brothers, Donald Daughtrey of Greeley, Shannon Daughtrey (Marlys) of Ault and Joel Daughtrey of Greeley and three grandchildren, Olivia Rae Armfield, Eli Armfield and Penelope Grace Daughtrey.
He was preceded in death by his father.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Eaton Community Center, 1675 3rd Street, Eaton.
John was an avid Denver Broncos fan and his family and friends are invited to wear Denver Broncos colors to his celebration of life.
