Jacqueline "Jackie" Torrez

Jackie grew up and was educated in Hershey. After her education, she worked in Hershey for the Kuroki Family Farm and Taylor Ford Factory in Ogallala.

On June 9, 1956 she married Pete Torrez at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sutherland, Nebraska. Pete died on February 5, 2013.

Pete and Jackie lived in Sterling from 1956 until 1968, when they moved to Ft. Lupton. She worked as a food service aide in the Fort Lupton school district for many years. They moved to Greeley in 1995. They were members of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Jackie loved taking care of her yard, especially tending to her rose garden. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She also was an avid Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos fan.

Jackie is survived by a daughter, Roseanne (Damon) Floyd of North Platte, Nebraska; two sons, Pete (Judy) Torrez of Ft. Lupton and James (Brenda) Torrez of Milliken; son-in-law, Ted Engle of Cheyenne, Wyoming; her dear friend, Sally McClure of Greeley; ten grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter, Cynthia Engle, a grandson, Peter Anthony Torrez, niece, Tina Blea, four sisters, Concepcion Cervantez, Lucille Cervantez, Maxine Cervantez and Abrora Hernandez and four brothers, Mike Cervantez, Henry Cervantez, Jesse Cervantez and Valentine Cervantez.

A Liturgical service will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 30, 2015 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
