She was born on May 8th, 1932 to Victor and Ella (Seibert) Witte, in Sibley County Minnesota. She was born and raised on a diary farm in Minnesota. Attended and graduated from Arlington High School.
On May 10, 1951 she married Ernie Meyer. As the wife of a military man she lived in many places including Germany, Alaska, Georgia to name a few.
In 1963 in Columbus Georgia she joined Easter Star, a masonic fraternity. She affiliated with the Garden City Chapter in 1970. She was a 59 year member of Eastern Star. She was a very active and dedicated member. She held all star points numerous times. She was Worthy Matron and Grand Chaplain for the State of Colorado. She served on the Rainbow Scholarship Committee and the Rainbow Advisory Board for Greeley Assembly. She was a member of Golden Gleaner.
Genie was also a professional Clown with Ladybug Alley. Her name was Missy Flutterbye. She enjoyed entertaining for years especially for her grandchildren and great granddaughter. She also loved and was proud of her travels. Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, Germany, Branson Missouri, Arizona, to name a few.
She enjoyed all her jobs, but enjoyed and was most proud of being a process server for Professional Finance Company for several years until she was in her 80s. Genie was a very caring and compassionate friend and family woman. She was dedicated to helping others always. More than anything she loved and was so proud of her family.
Survivors are children: Ron Heitman Minnesota, Richard and (Juanita) Meyer Greeley, Nancy Raehal Kentucky; grandchildren: Amy Meyer Greeley, Daniel Meyer Greeley , Robert Raehal Kentucky, and adopted grandson Robert Baker Greeley; great grandchildren: Ashlie Fuentes Greeley, Sonny Meyer, Lillian Griffin; and great great granddaughter: Daisy Fuentes.
Proceeded in death by husband Ernie Meyer, parents Victor and Ella Witte, and brother Ted Witte.
A visitation for Genie will be held Friday, December 1, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at Stoddard Funeral Home, 3205 West 28th Street, Greeley, Colorado 80634. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. following the visitation at Stoddard Funeral Home. An interment will immediately follow the funeral service at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
