Elaine Hasuko Kinoshita, 92, of Greeley peacefully passed away on May 25th, 2022 at Brookdale of Greeley. Elaine was born on July 21st, 1929, to Kunisaburo Akahoshi and Toyo Kitagawa in Greeley, Colorado. She married Carl ‘Shorty’ Kinoshita on November 19, 1949 in Denver, Colorado.
Elaine lived and grew up in the Ault/Eaton area, graduating from Ault High School and Greeley Commercial College. Elaine went on to work as a bookkeeper in the farming industry. Elaine loved bowling, golfing, knitting, cross-stitching and tole painting. She loved spending weekends up at Blackhawk and enjoyed going to Las Vegas with family and friends.
Elaine is survived by her daughters Colleen Mayer (Jeff), Lesli Howe (Greg Taylor), Jodi Yakel (Jerry); grandchildren, Koren Castleman, Jesse Yakel, Janae Bredehoft, Charles Howe IV, Tara Howe; great-grandchildren, Owen, Roarke, Marcus, Jordyn, Jack, Palmer, Layla and Jaxon and many nieces and nephews.
Elaine is preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl ‘Shorty’ Kinoshita to whom she was married for 67 years, brothers Robert and Frank, and sisters Dorothy and Masako.
In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorial contributions be made to Bristol Hospice or the Tri-State Buddhist Church in Denver Colorado, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service. Friends may view the online obituary and send condolences at www.allnutt.com.
