Dolores Weiss

Dolores Arlene (Mathes) Weiss, 89, passed away on February 1, 2022 in Greeley, CO, surrounded by family. She grew up in the Offerle/Kinsley, KS area. In 1951, she married Earl Weiss. They lived in Garden City, KS, from 1960 to 1994, raising a family of five children. In retirement, they lived in Bella Vista and Holiday Island, AR. They moved to Greeley, CO in 2016 to be near family. Dolores was a master at party bridge and duplicate bridge, and enjoyed playing games on her ipad. Family was very important to her. She was funny, loyal, sassy, dingbatty at times, but always there for her family.

Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Minnie Mathes, two daughters, Shirley Weiss and Karen Medlin, a sister, Betty King, and a great-grandson, Hunter Weiss. Dolores is survived by her husband of 70+ years, Earl, daughters, Sharlene Gronau of Eagle River, AK, JoAnn (Dennis) Conway of Greeley, son Kenneth (Bernice) Weiss of Monett, MO, a brother Duane (Sue) Mathes of Kinsley, 9 grandchildren, Kevin, (Danna) Clarr, Kim (Brad) Russell, Matt Gronau, Katie (Mike) Yaniec, Amy (Andy) Hansen, Jennifer (Ryan) Schmidt, Staci Ireland, Kara (Brandon) Foil, and Cody (Brittany) Weiss, 17 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Grace Pointe Senior Care facility in Greeley, at 2:30 pm. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials are suggested to the Lutheran Hour.
