She was born on December 21, 1937, to Fred and Wilma (Morris) Harris in Texas. Dee spent her youth in Fort Worth, Texas where she graduated high school. In 1972 Dee moved to Colorado where she spent time living in Estes Park, Fort Collins, and finally residing in Greeley where she spent the last of her years.
She had various careers throughout her life including theatre, accounting and being a comptroller at Michael Ricker Pewter where she retired. Dee was also known for her event planning skills where she was able to use her creativity.
She enjoyed crafting and sewing teddy bears. In more recent years she was able to donate close to 200 stuffed bears to the Greeley Fire Department for children in need. Putting together artificial flower arrangements was Dee’s favorite pastime, and she enjoyed making them for weddings. Dee’s love for flowers also showed in her gardening; you could not keep her away from flowers. More than anything, Dee loved being a grandmother. She shared so many special memories with her grandchildren like baking cookies with them. Dee loved her family very much.
She is survived by her husband of eighteen years, Gene Meisner; her twin daughters, Heidi Yoder and Heather (Ted) Schaal; her son, Carey Brown; her step-children, Jerry Meisner and Karen (Rick) Lindesmith; her grandchildren, Chloe and Bodhi Schaal, and 8 step-grandchildren.
Dee was preceded in death by both of her parents, her daughter, Terri (Jack) Madsen, and one step-grandchild.
A Graveside Service for Dee will be held Monday, April 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Resthaven Memory Gardens, 8426 S. Hwy 287, Ft. Collins, Colorado 80525.
