Alfredo Gonzalez-Diaz, 56, of Evans, CO, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 18, 2023 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born January 10, 1967 in Jalisco, Mexico to Leopoldo Gonzalez and Maria Esther Gonzalez Diaz.
Alfredo always held a strong faith in God. His strong faith can be traced back to a young age as he would play important roles in the church. He always made sure to emphasize the importance of religion with his kids. Every night you would hear him praying the rosary.
He was always concerned about the wellbeing of his family and friends, up until the very end. Great examples of this are when he would make sure his parents were fed or helping his kids find replacement car parts, even while he was undergoing treatments. Alfredo was always the go to person for advice and ready to give a helping hand. He had an infectious personality. He would make those around him smile and laugh. He also made sure people felt welcomed to be a part of the family.
Alfredo enjoyed traveling with his family. He was very family oriented and loved his children. He enjoyed getting back to his roots and enjoying his culture. Alfredo passed down this love of life to his children.
Alfredo was a very hard worker and showed a great work ethic. He was very motivated in order to provide for his family. He received his Automotive degree from Aims Community College in 1991 and continued this joy for vehicles for the rest of his life. He worked in the automotive field up until the year 2000, when he began his career in the U.S. Postal Service. As a postal carrier for 23 years, he was very friendly and touched the lives of those on his route; going out of his way to get to know as many people as he could.
Alfredo is survived by his wife, Maria Angelica Gonzalez; children, Fabian, Moses, Alfredo Jr., Vanesa, Crisitian, Abraham and Brandon; brothers, Polo, Gonzalo (Susanna), Edwardo (Michelle), Efrain (Amber) and Guillermo (Blanca); sisters, Yolanda (Efrain), Olga and Nancy (Dan) and grandchildren, Jace, Nathaniel, Sunny and Nyx.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church, 1311 3rd Street, Greeley, CO. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
