When I think of Dick, I think of his most stunning creation: the beautiful garden he had nurtured for so long. Every visit revealed a new wave of growth and blooms, changes he pointed out so proudly.  I enjoyed spending time outdoors with Dick's dear wife Sue, listening to the breezes play through the trees' leaves, watching the sunlight light up the flowers' colors.
                 Dick was so appreciative of so many things: his family, home and friends ... fine art, music, travel, and the environment — all of life's true riches. I will always treasure the graceful wood sculpture he had created and kindly bequeathed to me.
                 First and foremost was his devotion to Sue, exploring and pursuing every way to ensure her health, well being and happiness.
                 There was never a more kind and generous friend, always sharing ways to enjoy life as he always had -- from books and catalogs to articles and "how tos" -- not to mention surprise packages of wicked good brownies and chocolate chip cookies.
                  I will miss Dick very much, but my memories of him will be like his gorgous garden, evergreen and full of color and sunlight.
