For almost 101 years, our marvelous mother blazed trails: Valedictorian, Seward Park HS (1939); Cornell University (1942); NY Medical College (1945) [1 of only 10 women]; brilliant pediatrician; founding member (with her husband of almost seven decades, Dr. Alan Brooks z"l) of Temple Judea of Manhasset; twice president of the Manhasset-Roslyn Chapter of Hadassah. Fiercely dedicated to and protective of her family and friends, she was "Grandma" (and so much more) to our children: Julie (Stu) Horowitz, Susie (Matt) Revkin, Jodi (Seth) Miller, Dr. Platina Gershtenson, and Hannah Brooks; great-grandmother of seven; and sister to our dear aunt, Phyllis Fisher. Her unbreakable spirit and unyielding commitment to all that is right and good are our inheritance. We were blessed to enjoy her facile mind, quick wit, tender caress, warm embrace, and loving heart.
Services: Friday, 9/9/22, Temple Judea of Manhasset, at 10:30 am.
