William H. Grimes

In Loving memory of William H. Grimes who previously resided in Coppell, TX for over 22 years and recently moved to Flower Mound, TX. He went to be with the Lord and reunite with his loving wife Rose on May 18, 2019.

He was born on August 22, 1930 in Chattanooga TN. He was preceded by his loving parents William Joseph Grimes and Blanche Alice Mae Bruce.

He married Rose E. Moyers on February 12, 1956. He was in the Army for 28 years and retired as a Master Sergeant E-8. Served in the Korean war and was transferred to Germany where he lived in various other states before he was transferred to Vietnam war as a medic. He continued working after retirement at Aero Industries, City of Carrollton, City of Farmers Branch and Kroger and retired again at the age of 76. William enjoyed farming, raising cattle, horse trading and owned several farms in East and North Texas. He enjoyed collecting coins and fishing at his last ranch in Ravenna, Texas.

Cherishing his memory is his family: Dennis Grimes and his wife Susan, Elizabeth Grimes, Joseph Grimes, Richard Grimes, Dale Grimes and his wife Cathy. Grandchildren, Kodi Grimes, Preston Grimes and wife Cindy, Christopher Grimes, Colton Grimes and Joseph Grimes. Great grandchildren, Jordynn Grimes, Rylee Grimes, Levi Grimes, Logan Grimes and Kodi Grimes: sister, Carol Queen, sister-in-law, Glee Bippus, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Rose E. Grimes on September 18, 2018, sister Edna, brother Earl, brother-in-law Jack Queen, niece Kathy Queen, granddaughter Lauren Grimes and daughter-in-law, Lanelle Grimes.

Graveside services will be 9:00am, Friday, May 24, 2019 at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery with full military honors.
