Kim was my cousin and also a very dear friend. Our lives interconnected  when she moved to London and lived with us for a while. She was brave, funny, compassionate, clever and a beautiful person to share time with. The music at Kim’s service was so perfect- I can’t imagine how many times we played and sang along to Journey - Don’t stop Believin’ , both being ‘just small town girls’ but though we were living in a foreign world it wasn’t lonely because we had each other. Kim’s passing so early in her life is just not fair. My heart goes out to her immediate family and loved ones. May Kim’s beautiful smile and incredible ability to always find hope and put a positive spin on whatever came her way inspire us and give us  strength now and forever. I met Kim in 2004, when we both joined Celerant Consulting and were both new to London...
At the time, we were working on a BT project... we were staying in a beautiful hotel 4 nights a week, and were always fighting to get David Beckham’s room ...  Neither of us really knew who he was at the time... but we liked his room the best ... 
I will always remember Kim as full of life, energy and passion. Very friendly. Very bright. Very determined. Always smiling.
Kim and I shared a passion for fashion... especially designer handbags and shoes which we could not afford ... so we would buy vintage «lookalikes but not really » on Brick Lane or Portobello Market...  she would always find THE best treasures hidden in the most unexpected places! 
I was so sad to hear that she had been battling with cancer these past years, but not surprised to hear that she did with strength, courage and dignity all along... a wonderful role model for Charlotte and Jessie. 
To Andy, Charlotte, Jessie and Kim’ close family and friends, I am so terribly sorry for your loss. Wishing you the strength to face the days ahead and beautiful memories of Kim to keep forever.

How Kim and I met was by chance on Facebook in Southlake and we were brought together by so many commonalities.  I honestly don't remember specifics but we ended up having a lot in common.  She grew up in Australia, I grew up in New Zealand.  We had a beach home near Brisbane and would visit Australia often.  She loved skiing and we started talking about Breckenridge. She and Andy were looking to buy a property and as it turns out they chose the one directly across from ours and that I am looking at as I write.  We would meet up in Breckenridge if we both were visiting the same time and watching her renovate their place brought her so much joy.  I smile because I think we saw more of each other in Breckenridge than we did in Southlake, TX and we only lived 5 minutes from each other!   She had such an eye for decorating.   My only regret was not getting to know her sooner.   She had amazing courage and strength and I can tell you she never once complained. IT never won. Her contagious smile will live in our memories and hugs to Andy, Charlotte and Jess.  xoxo

Dear Kim, Andy, Charlotte and Jessica,

I had the pleasure to meet Kim through our very dear friend Elizabeth. We had many laughs and share many memories of our younger years in London.

Then life took us to different parts of the world, you in Texas and me in Australia but we kept the friendship going through “our round the world” chat with your dear friend Lizzy and Gra where we shared our lives, worries and happiness of our everyday life ... we all have so many hopes and dreams for each other lives, our kids and to see each other again one day..never got around to do that 4 girls trip together.

I will cherish all the beautiful moments spent together and will bring you in my heart forever beautiful kind wonderful friend.

You have been taken away way too soon from this word, Andy and the girls and I will miss you and our chats forever.

We've been lucky enough to know Andy for a long time through our careers at BT around the world and fate bought Andy and Kim to Southlake Texas at almost the same time as we  moved here.    Kim threw herself into everything she did, bringing up two amazing girls,  renovating houses in Texas and Colorado and keeping Andy in line.   There always seemed to be guests  at the McGroarty house which says a lot about the friendships the family and Kim built through their many adventures around the world.   We are desperately sorry for the loss but feel lucky to know the family and we are sure that the girls will continue to grow into women that Kim would be proud of.    

Kim was an exceptional person. We have such fond memories of her - she really did make an impression on people. Every moment spent with Kim was a joy - full of fun and laughter As well as the nights out and visits to London, we enjoyed some play dates too, which we shall treasure forever. I remember when we first went skiing with Kim. She skied over to what can only be described as the edge of a cliff and shouted to me ‘ohhhh let’s go down here’ I skied over to join her, she grinned and popped over the edge and was away, as stylish as ever as I swallowed back tears and forced myself over too. 

It seems to be how she lived life. With style, bravery and a smile on her face. Moving to the uk, then to the US. Facing cancer, renovating the ski lodge remotely! 
She always seemed to be able to fit so much in! Like the family Christmas cards, always beautiful, and when I told her that she was a superhero for finding the time she brushed it off and instead talked about how much she loved finding the photographers and making the memories. 

Darren and I know that these memories, her beauty, bravery and love will live on in Andy, Charlotte and Jessica.  As well as all of those who’s lives were touched and improved by knowing Kim.

From the first time I met Kim she always made me feel so welcome in the family though her warm, friendly and thoughtful nature. Kim had a fantastic sense of humour, she was very witty and could always find a funny side to a story. I always looked forwards to when we all carved out some girls time on holiday, whether that be a cheeky spa afternoon or sipping champagne till late out on the balcony.

With Kim you could always tell how proud she was of the life she and Andy had made in Texas and the joy she had from seeing Andy, Charlotte and Jessie thrive at taking on all the opportunities Dallas has to offer. Kim is responsible for making a home that is not only full of style and beauty but also totally relaxed and a place that the kids can and will continue to fill with fun, laughter and lots of memories. When I think of Kim it will always be of her sipping coffee in the kitchen and smiling as the girls run around like little maniacs in their pants dancing and playing. 

It was undoubtedly the love she had for Andy and the kids that allowed her to battle cancer with such strength, determination and ferocity. In that way she truly was an inspiration. Kim was such an amazing person to so many people and the loss everyones feels is only a true reflection of how great a wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend she was.

So sorry to hear about Kim's passing.  What a beautiful woman!  She loved her husband, children and family dearly.  I worked with Andy at the BT office and had the pleasure to have spoken to Kim several times when she happened to visit the office. I clearly remember the day that I first heard my brother Andy speak about Kim. Never before had I heard him quite so smitten, this girl had clearly captured his heart. Shortly after that I met Kim for the first time and I knew instantly that one day she and Andy would get married, their connection was so incredible to witness, they genuinely did complete each other. 

I expected to gain an incredible sister in law, but I was so lucky that what I actually gained was one of the closest friends I have ever had. She was my confidant, my interior designer, a constant source of laughter and fun and a true friend. I have so many wonderful memories that I will cherish forever.

I watched as she fought cancer fiercely, with a strength that I was in awe to behold. Her focus was her precious family and she never once faltered. I will be forever so very proud of her.

I will be privileged to help guide your two beautiful daughters in any way that I can to become the strong, resilient, kind women you always knew they would be. 

I will miss you every day my incredible friend. Sleep in peace now.

Kim and I once spent a whole week playing with miniature catapults and just having the best time.  It was part of a training course, and she was determined to beat all the other teams, while trying to ping little balls off my head when I was not looking.  That was Kim all over, exceeding smart and exceptionally fun.  

As the only other Aussie in the company, it was my delight, when Kim became part of my team.  We would spend days analysing the ins and outs of some esoteric chemical company, and then Friday afternoons, on a three-hour train journey drinking and celebrating our release.  That was Kim as well, driven to success at work but the easiest company outside of it.

And yet with deep sadness, here we are.  Now Kim will always be a brilliant inspiration to live up to, and a great example of how to do life, the right way.

I remember when Rowena and I were getting married, Andy said he had just met a great girl called Kim and I insisted that he must bring her to our wedding. That was when we met Kim for the first time in Grays Inn, London. She was a very warm and friendly person who lit up the room with her lovely smile and we could see how much in love they were and soon after they also got married.

From Rowena - I have very fond memories of spending time with Kim when Charlotte and our son Roshan were little babies - we used to meet at Westfield and walk around the shops with our prams looking at baby clothes and drinking coffee. She stayed with us on a trip to London from the States and we cooked dinner together and stayed up chatting for ages -she was always such great company.

I always admired Kim for her get up and go, her energy and braveness - she was above all always very kind and had a great sense of humour. The last time I saw her, I was in awe of how bravely she was tackling her illness and at how positive and strong she was. I will really miss Kim and I hold very fond memories of her close to my heart.

I first met Kim when we both lived in Southlake 2015-2016 - being from the UK we had a lot in common and hit off straight away - always finding ways to adapt American recipes to make them ‘British’ and Charlotte and Leo would play together - she had such a warm heart and was always there to help me out. One memory sticks out when she turned up and left Jessica in the car napping - the car automatically locked with her keys inside so our only option was to call the local fire brigade to get them to come to her rescue - we did have a laugh about this after - although not sure she ever told Andy - oops!! Kim, you are sorely missed and we are sending you so much love to Andy and the girls -

When we moved to Dallas, I was absolutely delighted to find out that Kim lived in the very same suburb. We went to high school together in Brisbane, and sat together in a few classes, we’d always gotten along well but we’d lost touch over the years, with her moving to the UK, we exchanged the occasional message here and there. When we reconnected in Southlake, it felt like no time had passed at all, Kim was such good company, and did so much to help us settle into our new life in Texas - she insisted on taking us to the stockyards for a night I’ll never forget, and tipped us off to great places to eat and things we must try. Kim would often call me when she was ironing, as she knew I liked Royal family and she’d talk with me about their latest goings on for hours, or anything really - she was so wonderful like that, she could speak to anyone about anything. Her home appeared to have an open door policy, and she was a relaxed and generous host - she made it so comfortable to sit and chat with her and whichever lovely friend who was breezing through, while all our kids played. Nothing seemed to phase her, she had life completely in perspective, she always had so much going on, I used to marvel to her that seemed to get so much more done than I ever could manage, and she was going through all these various treatments on top of it all. Kim was a devoted mother, and my heart breaks for Charlotte and Jessie, she loved you both so much. I will always admire Kim’s cheerful spirit and already I have missed her dreadfully. 

I met Kim for the first time at university during some ‘Marketing 101’ subject. I distinctly recall giving Kim some excellent pointers for an assignment that was due ‘yesterday’, and she subsequently scored a much higher mark than me. “Smart, and crafty” I thought to myself….  Even though we only had a few subjects that overlapped, we swiftly built an excellent rapport and I was fortunate enough to be elevated to the status of ‘friend’. 

Despite our careers taking different paths our friendship never seemed to falter – I guess true friendships aren’t influenced by what hemisphere you live in or how often you speak or catch up. For Kim and I, the obvious obstacles just didn’t matter – when the opportunities arose we just picked up where we left off. 

To me, Kim was the quintessential dichotomy. On the one hand, she was incredibly smart, successful, driven, and dedicated, and yet on the other hand she really knew how to have a good time, not take things too seriously, and laugh at the ridiculous. Considering that my own life force is all about ‘balance’, it’s no surprise that we forged a real, true friendship.

I’m gutted that we never did line up that trip to the slopes as it would have been one for the ages, and I’m totally floored that you have left this world far too soon, but I know that you are resting peacefully in the knowledge that you had such a profound and positive impact on anyone you graced your presence with.

My first memory of Kim was when Andy, myself and a few friends were on holiday in Gran Canaria and Andy and Kim had just met. Andy spent a large part of the evenings (and days) texting a girl called Kim, and every time he did, she came back with something witty enough to make him chuckle - it was clear to us all she was someone special that had caught Andy’s attention in a big way. Little did we know that they would get married, have 2 beautiful daughters and move across the world together.

Soon after that trip I was lucky enough to meet Kim and start hanging out with her amongst our friendship group. She had a caring nature, was great to be around, always smiling, bringing everyone into the conversation and asking about other people which always left us with a lovely feeling of being around her.

I have a fond memory of 6 of us lads descending on Kim and Andy’s house in Dallas and she’d gone to the trouble of making us all dinner before we went out, and the next morning while a few of them went for a jog, she saw the state of 2 of us (1 was me), and insisted we drink some form of green smoothie to make us feel better... we duly did and whilst at the time we didn’t fully appreciate it, after the special drink had taken effect we certainly did!

We will always remember Kim, and our thoughts and love are with Andy, Charlotte and Jessie.

When I first Hurd of Kim she was the mysterious Liz’s best friend. Then we met and I understood why she was everyone’s friends. We had a big group in London with so many events to celebrate and fun nights out. And then we were lucky enough to be at the wedding in Scotland. Was so touch when she invited me to come into her room to see her before everyone else. She looked stunning and so so happy!! Then all this WhatsApp’s chats about interior design and our renovations. A common passion.  So many amazing memories!!

We adored Kim, she was a dear friend to both of us. The first time I visited  Texas I spent a lot of time with Kim whilst Andy was at work. It was an extremely fun few days. Kim really looked after us well , obviously everything we did was planned with military precision. Every car journey, was peppered with long chats about research into the latest house project , I was always amazed about the detail and effort Kim applied to any situation!  That level of thoughtfulness was also applied to people, Kim treated people really well, she had a brilliant balance of being inquisitive but with genuine warmth which I found really engaging – we had some really meaningful conversations during that trip. She was extremely funny too, although in some cases that wasn’t always intentional.

Like Richie I loved chatting with Kim and hearing about her projects and adventures.  Kim became a very good and cherished friend of mine over the years.  She was  kind and caring but also very practical.   I will always be grateful for some of the advice she  gave me. 
Kim also made me laugh and would get me into making smoothies and trying Pilates! Her enthusiasm was infectious.  Kim was very clever but was daft too and that’s why we got on.   We always ended up laughing. 
I loved the time we spent together in Texas in April 2019.  We shopped and shopped and talked and talked and I can vividly remember Kim smiling.  And the girls were wee stars on our trip and made Kim and I laugh.  I wish I could hug you now Kim.  I am heartbroken that my friend is gone.  You were a wonderful mummy and wife and will always be in your family and friends hearts.

We met in Southlake through our husbands and quickly found out, we had so much in common. We both love interior design and could talk (and send photos) endlessly. Especially with your big renovation of the family house in Southlake and later our renovation of our holiday home in Spain. When I moved to London we managed to meet almost every year in Southlake or London. 
Kim, you left way to soon. I will miss you.

Kimmy, we met at St Aidans Anglican All Girls School, and time has flown since. Even back then you were the optimistic explorer always on the go. Never leaving an opportunity left un-opened and never leaving anyone behind. Your friends were your currency, and you were rich. We finished school and partied hard, having a blast. I choose you as my bridesmaid because I loved and admired you, our optimistic explorer. I should have known back then I would lose you to the world beyond Australia. And so, I did, and as expected, you conquered every opportunity life had to offer. But I never really lost you, you were only a phone call, message, Christmas card away. I was so happy you found your heart in Andy, you deserved only the best. And I was overjoyed to meet and spend time with the girls last time you were all here. Time has flown us by, but you will always be in my heart. Rest in Peace Kimmy!

Hey Charlotte! I used to look after you when you were “baby Charlotte” (that’s what I called you, because my name is Charlotte too!) My years in London looking after you are some of my favourite memories, made so special by you and your amazing mum and dad. 

I remember first meeting Kim, her smile the first time she welcomed me into her home, and Charlotte’s big, beautiful eyes as she sat on her play mat, looking up at us. Kim became a good friend and always made me feel like part of the family. She was also a hoot on her hen night, and I remember sipping cocktails with her from little china tea-cups in an underground London bar and dancing the night away.

Thinking of you all at this incredibly hard time. If there’s ever anything I can do to help, I am here. I would love to see Charlotte again and meet Jessica.

I had the pleasure of working with Kim and her girls at the Mathnasium of Southlake for the last few years. Charlotte and Jessie quickly became some of my favorites for their manners, silliness, and high energy :). Kim was always a joy to see and one of my favorite parents to work with. We would work together to find the best approaches for the girls, and I loved how invested she was in their education as well their emotional well being. I learned a lot from her parenting style and truly hope the absolute best for Charlotte and Jessie. I am so sorry for your loss. Kim was absolutely amazing! She will be missed. Praying for your family, especially the girls that they always remember the love and grace she showed them.

Kim was vivacious, fun, smart, brave, more than a little mischievous and a really loyal friend. I’m going to miss her terribly. 
Kim and I really cemented our friendship on the slopes of Switzerland (destroying a group of bragging Kiwis, although that’s another story...) and I have so many treasured memories of our time together that span the world. I look forward to sharing them with Andy, the girls and whoever is willing to listen well into the future.

I’ve had the good fortune of knowing Kim for over ten years, and was lucky enough to enjoy holidays in France and spend time with Kim and Andy at their home in London 
When I first met Kim I was taken by her infectious smile, warmth and zest for life. She was an elegant and stylish skier and a gracious and welcoming host. 
In recent years we’ve come to admire how she has battled her illness with grace, good humour and a courage that I cannot fathom.
What an inspiration she is to us all.

I never met Kim but I know Andrew’s parents well. Mary and John are respected members of St Charles’s parish, Paisley. I am a parishioner too. We see each other regularly and I could see how much they loved Kim. They showed me Kim and Andrew’s wedding photograph. She was a beautiful girl. 
Andrew was in the same year as my daughter Claire in St Andrew’s Academy, Paisley. We are all so sorry for his and his little girls’  loss of Kim. God bless them all.  

We met Kim in Texas when she, Andy and Charlotte relocated with BT a year after we did.  We were expats together and enjoyed sharing news on stores, restaurants and dog friendly locations. We enjoyed getting to know Charlotte and Jessie and visiting the beautiful family home in Southlake. Andy and Kim came for dinner the week before her diagnosis when we were all in blissful ignorance. We had just learned we were relocating to Italy and the last time we saw Kim was at our leaving party. We remained in touch and witnessed her brave fight and her positivity in the face of such adversity. Kim was a beautiful soul taken way too young. Our hearts go out to Andy and the girls. 

We have been lucky enough to know Kim since 2009. So many happy memories from when we all lived in Putney, holidays skiing and having our first children around the same time in 2012.
Kim always had a smile on her face and was always really enthusiastic, determined and positive about everything she set her mind to whether it was raising her kids, renovating a house or moving continents (a couple of times) 

Kim lived an adventurous life always wanting or willing to do new things and meet new people, yet she always made time for her friends wherever they were in the world and always wanted to hear about what they were up to whether it was something big or small. She will be missed so much.

I wanted to share with you and my wife's condolences for your loss. I personally did not know Kim, but I have had the wonderful privilege in being able to help teach Charolette and Jessica in PE. Kim's daughters are very respectful, really kind, they help others, and are high spirited every single day. They reflect Kim and how she was as an individual. It is a pleasure to be able to teach Charolette and Jessica in PE every single day because they bring a smile to my face and among their peers. Again, my wife and I's deepest condolences to you. We are praying for you during this difficult time.

I first met Kim through a mutual friend when she was pregnant with Jessie.  We hit it off straight away – we were both Aussies living in Texas and we had a lot in common.  Over the years, we loved spending time together with our two families, for Thanksgiving and Christmas, at Great Wolf Lodge, in Breckinridge.  I miss my friend so much already and my heart breaks for Andy, Charlotte and Jessie.  I will always remember Kim for her heart, her spirit, her bravery and determination.  xxx

I first met Kim when she joined out project at Celerant, shortly after she has arrived in the UK. I remember her as always smiling, adventurous and willing to give anything a go. Back then we worked hard and played hard and we had many a fun evening after work letting of steam.
I always thought Kim to be brave leaving home and crossing the world for adventure and a new life, this is something she continued to do years after I last saw her and I watch from a far as she continued her adventures. 
Kim was the kind of person to leave a mark on the people she met, but she would never know it, for me I admired her bravery, honesty and free spirit. Taken too soon. RIP Kim

I will always remember Kim as someone who was so fun to be with, easy to talk to, cheerful, and happy. She seemed to find the best in people and celebrate it joyfully. I am thankful to have known her, even for a short time. Andy, you and your beautiful girls will remain always in our prayers. I’m so very sorry.
