Jerry was born on January 25, 1938 at Methodist Hospital, Fort Worth, TX and lived in Grapevine, TX for most of his life. Jerry was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Frances Kay (Garth) Smith; his two children, Cynthia Kay (Smith) Janca Algee ( spouse William Albert “Jake” Algee ) and Jerry Dean Smith Jr ( spouse Elizabeth (Parish) Smith ); six grandchildren, Rebekah Naomi (Janca) Nelson, Elisabeth Abigail Janca, Jessekah Tamar Janca, Melynda Hamlin, Morgan Price, and Jaedyn Kay Smith; and three great-grandchildren, Joannah Nicole Nelson, Chandler Raye Hamlin, and Briar Rose Jones.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh Jefferson Smith and Edith Oleta (Daniel) Smith, his older brother, Horace Hugh Smith and one great grandchild, Jonathan Isaac Janca.
Jerry graduated Grapevine High School in 1957 and was a United States Navy Veteran. He owned and operated Smith TV that was started by his father and was a member of the Grapevine Anglers Bass Association.
On Sunday, August 18, 2024 at 2:00pm, after cremation, Jerry’s memorial service will be held at the First Grapevine Methodist Church and will be officiated by Pastor Mike Morse from The Living Waters Church & Alpha Omega Hospice.
