Kevin James Matthews

Kevin was born May 22, 1953 in Ashland, Oregon to Robert and Lavonne Matthews. He was the eldest of five boys. Kevin graduated from Riddle High School and later attended Southern Oregon University. Kevin met the love of his life Jeanie Petty in 1997, and they were married in 2000. Together they shared their 8 children, without the distinction of "mine & yours". Kevin loved cabinet making and was the owner-operator of his own business for more than 12 years.

Kevin was deeply involved with his community and church. He has been admired for "walking his talk." Kevin did not just preach his religious philosophy, he acted on it. He had a special way to make other really think about what is important, even if the conversations were a little uncomfortable. Kevin will be remembered as a gentle, quiet man with a wicked-sly sense of humor and an impressive sweet tooth.

Kevin is survived by his wife of 18 years; father Robert Matthews; children Becky, Jimmy, David, Bethany, Jonathan, Amanda; brothers Greg, Bruce, John, Drew; and 6 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Lavonne and daughters Nicci and Brittany.

A memorial service for Kevin will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Wolf Creek Alliance Community Church, 130 Main Street, Wolf Creek , Oregon 97497.
